Vernal: Did some research for you and here is what I found.

The reason your group is supporting stevia is that the Curing Cancer Naturally site does say that it falls within Budwig quidelines of a non toxic herb?????

I highly disagree with this. Budwig never recommended any Sugar substitute. Stevia is 100 times sweeter than Sugar and she enphasized extremely to say away from all sugars except for 1 t. of honey per day. Also the FDA has now declared Stevia a health hazard. It affects many diseases in a negative way and therefore is harmful.
Dr. Mercola does say that it is an ok herb for most.

Lets look at the Budwig diet!! No packasges, no cans only fresh. So how can we put a package of Stevia in our body. I believe that history will write that this was a toxin that should of been avoided. If we truly want freedom then I FEEL that it should be avoided but this is up to you. I can take you to the fountain but I cannot make you drink. As they say, ahahahah.
