Relating EC to Dandruff -

That's not true either. Dandruff is not caused by greasy hair. Sebum, a naturally produced grease, does not influence dandruff. When scientists investigated the problem more closely, they discovered that the sebum of people with dandruff contained a higher level of cholesterol, which allows some yeast to grow more easily on the scalp.

We have dandruff, so isnt this a clear sign that we have a higher level of cholesterol in our sebum? So a higher level of cholesterol in sebum allows yeast to develop faster which results in faster cell turnover.

Thats the dandruff covered.

Its hard to relate this to the cause of EC: lip sucking, picking, accutane.

we have the sebaceous glands on our lips and these must be rich in cholesterol also causing yeast to develope and rapid cell turnover.

Although this all adds up quite well, alot of people without EC have sebaceous glands on their lips, if the sebum they are producing is rich in cholesterol then they should have a EC kind of problem.

If I can find information on the cause of EC relating to high cholesterol in the sebum or yeast production then we could be on our way to the finish line.
