I had already been cutting back on meat
intuitively when I was diagnosed with
colon cancer. It was easy for me to
be a vegetarian and I was one from
1997 until a a couple of years ago.
Very often I will eat vegetarian still
but only because I like it, not because
I am NOT eating meat. Once I began eating
meat again I tolerated it well and I did
feel better. I may, even now, eat vegetarian,
especially if left to my own devices, and
have meat once a week. More often than not
this is chicken or deer. I had some wild
hog recently which was exceptional.
I tend to agree with some of the other
posters however about the food connection
being less important than say, the liver
connection, and the emotional component.
Something like meditation may also be
of benefit. Teaching yourself another
coping skill of how to quiet your mind
and allow yourself to have permission
to feel comfortable. Ultimately, it will
be YOU who makes you comfortable...
best wishes,
Zoe
