I take asthma medication (advair) while doing UT. I drink roughly about 8oz a day. I was afraid of overdosing on my meds also, but nothing has happened and I feel great! Start out on a small dose of UT, maybe a few drops to start. You should feel a positive difference with that small amount. Gradually work up to a larger amount as you feel comfortable.
