Jim Humble reported 100% success with doses activated with apple cider vinegar, and commented several times in his book that these doses had around 1 PPM free ClO2.

In running tests on the various acids used for activation, I have found that increased dilution is necessary to keep the dose at around 1 PPM when using citric acid at 10%. If your dose is yellow its concentration is a lot higher than 1 PPM.

When I mix up a dose using apple cider vinegar, I end up with about 3 PPM free ClO2. While that is higher than the 1 PPM Jim Humble observed, the difference is minimal. Mixing the same dose using 10% citric acid gives me a dose that has around 50 PPM free ClO2 and is quite yellow in color.

The question that I have is this:

If there is 100% success using a dose with about 1 PPM free ClO2, why risk nausea and diarrhea by taking a stronger dose?
