Do not start steroids until you can get an ACTH stimulation test done!! You may be just adrenally fatiqued, which supplements and lifestyle changes can address. If you start steroids you can actually BECOME someone with adrenal insufficiency, when your adreanals start to rely on the external source of steroid and stop making their own. The ACTH stim test is a blood test: they take a baseline (pretest) blood sample of your cortisol, then inject you with enough of a hormone similar to the one in your pituitary that tells your adrenals to make cortisol, then they take blood at 30, 60 and 90 minutes afterward to measure cortisol. THIS will tell you if you are adrenally insufficient or not.
