Your doctor does sound better than most, but $3400 is not necessary to figure out what is going on. Canaryclub.org has a basic test, with saliva you do at home, which will tell you if you have adrenal fatigue(cortisol levels done four times over one day), oh and for $99. Don't bother with hormonal tests with saliva, as adrenals is the only test accurate with saliva. I'm not sure about candida, but I don't trust saliva to measure that. For thyroid, the TSH is pretty useless, but the healthy number is one or less, where their "normal" goes up to 3 or 4. The best test for thyroid is with blood, and you can do a series at healthcheckusa.com for about $150. This includes TSH, free T3 and free T4, and also both antibodies, which are important. I think the name of the test is thyroid screening #2, but just make sure you get the five things I mentioned. If you type 123456 in the discount code you automatically save 10%. They use lab corp, which is one of the best labs in the country, and you can find one where you live. Since I don't know much about candida as far as testing(but I can say that candida loves Sugar and flour and processed foods, so if you clean up your diet it improves, also there are many natural remedies)you can go to realthyroidhelp.com. There you can get help for all the issues you mentioned and post at the general thyroid forum, where Deborah Su is really nice and knowledeable. If you are low thyroid with adrenal fatigue you can treat for those and then other symptoms will improve, perhaps dramatically. You can test and post your results at the forum I gave you and they will interpret them, far better than most doctors. I also can do this accurately. I have been treating for a year and a half for thyroid and adrenal fatigue, including seeing a very good doctor, and have yet to spend over $2000. I have just stopped taking meds for adrenals and am doing well.
