Hang yourself upside down. I do it with the help of a Inversion Table which i bought actually to stretch my back. I was totally amazed the first time when, after a bowel movement i decided to go on the table, flip myself upside down and see if it helps somewhat. Within seconds i could feel the hemorrhoids starting "crawling" back in. It took less than a minute and they were back inside and the pain and discomfort was gone!
I think the sudden reduction in blood pressure in the area helps to empty the hemorrhoid "sacks" from blood, and then gravity pulls them back in. The sphincters contract because they feel something moving, and it causes some added pain, but it's less than a minute... compared to 4-5 hours i had to wait in pain before.
I'm no doctor and i do not know if there are any bad side effects to this. Consult your physician.
I feel great and very happy i found this solution (by chance). I'm amazed to find almost no mentioning of it on the net.
You can see Inversion Tables on youtube by searching for the term. I bought mine on Amazon for 150 + 30(s&h). Probably you can also explore other ways to turn yourself upside down.
As to the side effects you described ("not being able to control your sphincter") - they might come from surgery. However, there is a much better procedure, called: Rubber Band Ligation. It's much much simpler, safer, almost painless and very effective. I do it these days for a permanent solution. Had one procedure and two more to go. Then i won't have it altogether.
If your doctor tells you surgery is the only way in your case (that's what my first doctor told me) then i suggest you look at this site:

They do the Rubber Band Ligation procedure in a unique patented way. I found them on the net after my first doctor (colorectal surgeon) said i must undergo surgery. I went to their branch in my area and their doctor performed the procedure with no problems at all.
Good luck to you,
A.S.
