Well, ideally strong immune system won't let the candida grow back once its killed by antifungal. But this doesn't seem to happen. The thing is there is always something left, and it only waits for the opportunity to grow back. I think to improve and to be cured are to different things.
like i said i think that maybe some radical therapy would kill all candida outside the gastrointestinal tract.
