There is no arsenic in apples (or their seed), only sugars which contain something that could be converted into arsenic and become toxic (it is actually laetrille, or vitamin B-17). Otherwise it is not toxic as your plain vanilla type arsenic... as far as I know.

As for iodine, I would never use Kelp or any other "natural" source of it, because it will certainly have heavy metals in it, most notably mercury, just like all fish in the sea are poisoned by mercury. Salmon and sardines are almost mercury free, but that's only because sardines are too small and don't live long enough to get considerable amount of mercury, and salmon which is cought in Alaska lives in relatively clean waters.
