I use UV light regularly. But I have not checked these things. Many things light up, including dead skin--but this is a good idea to keep in mind.
I don't think there is a way to avoid this condition other than the reliance on one's immune system.
I know my scalp is infected with fiber things, and medicated shampoo keeps the itch away. I have ordered more "lufenuron" [chitin inhibitor] for backup.
