I am afraid this will not be much help. the section on food all came from Jean Carper's book "food your miracle medicine>"

I am in the process of moving and had packed the book since writing but I finally found it, but alas not much info was given.

Under the section where she discusses fish and diabetics, she put a caution sentence at the end.

It reads verbatim "diabetics should not take fish oil capsules except under a doctor's supervision. They have proved troublesome in glucose regulation for some diabetics.

Unfortunately, I guess this would require further research.

but the amount needed it says of fish is only an ounce a day..you could buy a can of mackerel..she had s a pretty tasty recipe..

off the top of my head, you mixed the mackerel bones and all (good source of calcium) with celery, mayo (or I like grape seed oil veganaisse found at whole foods in the dairy case with a purple lid). dijon mustard, pickle relish, a little onion minced. It taste kind of like tuna salad but canned mackerel or salad (which you could also use instead of mackerel in this recipe)as a high1651 mg per 3 1/2 ozs and mackerel slightly higher while tuna contains a measly 111 (canned in water) mg of omega three fatty acid. You might like adding nuts to it.

Then when it is does divide it into one oz portions ( can of mackerel is about 16 oz so about 16 equal parts. Put this in the freezer..each day take out one day and eat it.

That should give you the amount studies show forestalls diabetes and cuts your risk of getting it in half so this same amount may also help the diabetic.

{Please see the next few posts for some additional info on things related to diabetes.

thanks
