"I have heard that Iodine acts as a chelating agent (I have heard mostly just for bromine?) and I was wondering if it also chelates out mercury."

Iodine is absorbed mostly into the thyroid gland. That will make thyroid kick into high gear, which is a good thing, but will also make thyroid spit out all the mercury it has absorbed over time. This in turn will distribute mercury all over the place (various other organs, blood, liver and so on), so chelating with Iodine alone is not a good thing, as it will just re-toxify the body.

The proper way to use Iodine is this (this is for adults, for kids it's less):

- Use only Atomidine from "Heritage products"
- Take one drop in a half glass of water first thing in the morning, before any food or drink. Do not eat or drink anything for half an hour afterwards.
- Take another drop of Atomidine in a half a glass of water in the afternoon or evening, about 12 hours after the morning dose. Make sure it is not after a meal and do not eat for half an hour afterwards again.

Then the next day do everything the same way, except increase Atomidine dosage to 2 drops each time. And the next day, everything the same except increase the dosage to 3 drops twice daily. Go on like that until you reach 8 drops twice daily, and then go backwards with dosing down to only one drop twice daily.

That will take about two weeks. On the last day, prepare a warm bath in which you will add 2 lbs of Epsom Salt. Take a bath in that water, it will be a saturated solution, and add hot water as hot as you can take it, without burning yourself. Then relax and visualise toxins being release through your skin, pores and sweat glands. You will sweat, and if you don't it means it is not hot enough. You should start sweating within 10 minutes at the most. Stay like that for at least 20-30 minutes or a bit longer if it feels good. When you get up do it carefully as you may feel week. Take a very quick shower, and then lay down in bed as you will still feel week.

All of that repeated a few times will clear up all the glands of mercury. Mercury is bound to our glands as they are full of nerve figers, and mercury loves to bind to the type of protein which is found in our nerve endings which explains why it is a key to understanding many neurological problems.

If you plan on doing this with a child, do everything the same, except reduce the amount of Atomidine, to a few drops twice daily, depending on his/her age and weight. For babies or less then 2 yr olds, it should be not more then 2 drops twice daily and should be increased by half a drop a day (if you put one drop in a half a glass of water and then you spill half of that, you will end up with a half drop in quater glass of water).

Taking atomidine or any other form of iodine without doing the Epsom Salt bath is dangerous and should NOT be done!

"I know some people say to remove Amalgams before doing iodine therapy, so it makes me think this is in fact the case."

And they are right, just make sure you do it with a "biological dentist" i.e. a dentist who knows that removing Amalgams can be more dangerous then leaving them there.

"I am wondering since my son has several characteristics of autism after much therapy in his early years and I think this may help him. "

It very likely will, just make sure you stick to the above - be careful as every detoxification is also re-toxification, meaning, poisons get redistributed through the body and should be eliminated at that point otherwise they will get absorbed, and you end up with even more problems.

"I know there are other methods of chelation for mercury, and I am going to be researching those as well."

I think that one worth trying is "NDF" (nano-detox factor). It has been used very successfully by many mothers of autistic kids, and there are forums out there where you can read up on it. Just do a google search for something like "NDF autism" and see what comes up. Do NOT use the NDF+ though, even though it sounds better. It has probiotic bacteria added to it, and those can actually be a problem. So just try the regular NDF, one drop under your child's tongue and increase to maybe 3-4 drops under tongue. Go slowly, do not rush, it is dangerous to rush with detox.

"I had a flu shot while I was pregnant (I was sooo dumb back then - listened to what the doctor told me to do) that I am pretty sure must've had thimerosal in it"

ABSOLUTELY ALL FLUE SHOTS HAVE THIMEROSAL!

It is not only the mercury that influenced your child but many other things in those shots, some of which are most often overlooked, like viruses and bacteria which tend to attack his intestines and in doing so they inflame a very important glands which Edgar Cayce called "Lacteal ducts". Those ducts provide nourishment to nerve cells in the abdomen. Abdomen has almost as many nerves as brain. Our brain and abdominal nerves do have to communicate effectively to enable us to think and function properly. Inflamation in intestines will prevent that from happening and autism, parkinsons, alzheimers, MS and similar diseases settle in. Atomidine does help with that as it is a strong antiseptic and will kill a lot of those nasty bacteria and viruses. Make sure you use Atomidine instead of Lugols. It is less toxic and more potent, and is also easily used by our organs and glands.

It seems to me that "Louder then words" a recently published book, is pretty good at for starters, although I don't think that author is familiar with concepts I gave here. I have been researching this for a number of years (like 20 years)...


"Just to give more info. on my son's continual issues:

Poor muscle tone (low strength)"

Means his body is fighting something and his glands are exhausted

"emotional instability at times"

Thyroid and adrenal problems probably due to mercury, but also most likely due to inflammation in his guts, the stuff I already explained.

"difficulty with motor planning/execution"

Concentration - glands and his tummy again

"sensory integration dysfunction"

same as above

"tires easily"

Glands again.

In addition to everything I wrote here, make sure your son does NOT eat starches of any kind during this. As a matter of fact, while you are giving him Atomidine and later NDF, make sure he doesn't eat anything sweet or anything that has starches and do not give him anything that has milk in it. That limits his diet to only:

- Fruits in the morning (which should primarily be some nice and tasty and sweet grapefruit and sometimes apples, mostly granny smith), and sometimes whole grain, Sugar free flakes in Sugar free almond milk (no soy or regular milk!!!). Grapefruit has a strong Antibiotic in it, and is excellent for clearing up his intestines and liver! Also include grapes and pears in his morning meals as those also have excellent effect on his digestion and will help remove toxins from his intestines.

- All kinds of green vegetables, cooked and fresh, and fresh salads (with olive oil or olive oil based mayo/dressing) for lunch including some light meat like chicken or sardines or salmon. Turkey is good too. No pork, no beef, maybe a little lamb here and there. Nothing fried, nothing deep fried, definitely NO POTATOES, NO RICE, NOTHING BREADED.

- Cooked meat for dinner with cooked veggies.

This also means he cannot eat many things that he may be taking for granted right now: pizza, chocolate, chocolate milk, hot chocolate, cookies, pastry, cakes, pop, fruit juices (even fresh squeezed ones, except for fresh squeezed grapefruit juice or some fresh squeezed grape juice - only the one you make yourself at home! and even those in small amounts due to Sugar content), hamburgers, fries, ice-cream, frozen yogurt and so on. Also for now avoid hi GI fruits: watermellons, strawberries, and other berries.
