Acid Reflux (just as it's name implies) is CAUSED by acid from the stomach going upward into the esophagus, where it can be felt and do damage. We do not 'feel' or sense acid in our stomach, because the lining of our stomach is designed to deal with the strong acid.
What causes Acid Reflux? One can theorize many causes, but the baseline/primary cause is the exact same thing that causes ANY fluid in a tube (the digestive tract) to go UPward instead of DOWNward. And that's a lack of flow in the tube, blockage in tube, or anything giving off gas in the tube!
I've never heard of anyone that was having 2-3/5 normal bowel movements daily experiencing acid reflux (other than the occasional/random symptom).
This is an easy, baseline physiological fact...remove the source of the blockage, or the reason for the 'lack of flow' downward, or the substance producing gas, and the UPward motion of the stomach acid ceases. I am forever astounded at how often this truth is not recognized, ignored, or made zillions of time more complex than it actually is.
1. Mucoid plaque (the rubbery build-up of mucous and putrefying/putrefied fecal matter lining the lower colon, containing incredibly condensed amount of toxins & acidic debris). This cause the colon to be swollen, engorged and 'stiffened' so that it cannot squeeze properly. And if you've ever released mucoid plaque, you KNOW how much gas it produces.
2. When one is having less that 2-3/5 healthy bowel movements daily (one bm 30-60 minutes after a meal is eaten), we have virtually no structural clogs or debris, and very little or no production of "gas" (that would force the stomach acid upward). However, if that partially digested food remains in the digestive tract (a dark, wet environment of almost 100 degrees) for longer than 8-10 hours? Lol, the same thing happens to the food as would happen to any mixture of chewed food in any similar environment...it starts to rot, putrefy and give off gas. Consider/imagine: instead of swallowing your food after chewing it thoroughly & mixing it with the digestive enzymes in your saliva, you spit it into a glass jar and put it in a dark oven for hours (days?). How long before the pressure of the gas would explode the glass jar? That same gas happens in your "tube" when food isn't being digested and eliminated properlly! And in the middle of that that enclosed 'tube' (with more rotting food and mucoid plaque beneath it), the gas must go somewhere...and that's upward (it sure can't go downward, eh?).
3. LACK of vital stomach acid. YES! If one doesn't have ENOUGH stomach acid to break-down & digest food properly, the food breaks down much slower than is natural (or not completely), which slows down the entire digestive process. This causes the food to putrefy/rot...which (again) gives off gas AND increases the build-up throughout the digestive tract. Raw/organic apple cider vinegar is a HUGE benefit for lack of stomach acid (although it rarely addresses the root cause of reflux).
How to cure it? Colon cleansing is the FIRST order of business. After 20 years of SEVERE acid reflux, mine went away during my first two weeks of colon cleansing...and when I started, I had IBS. You would have thought that my over-frequent bowel-movements meant there was no blockage...but it was the build-up of mucoid plaque that irritated the lining (and narrowed the wideth) of my intestines, that caused me to have a lot of "hot sporadic" bowel movements...and to have a lot of gas that moved upward constantly. Of course, when someone is having LESS than 2-3 bowel movements a day, we know there's even MORE of a need for cleansing the colon.
A full course of IF#2 (with IF#1 as needed) as prescribed by Dr. Schulze is a fantastic starting place...and may be enough to 'do the trick'. However, just like liver flushing, it takes far more cleansing effort and lifestyle/diet attention to achieve a healthy/clean digestive tract. One two-week cleanse is a good start; 30 days would be even more effective.
Some people could cleanse their colon with Scrubbing Bubbles or Draino and never achieve 2-3 bowel movements daily. Why? Because bile (from the liver) is what induces peristalsis (the squeezing motion of the colon). If the liver is clogged, there's not enough bile to properly digest the food (more gas) or to get the colon to squeeze it out effectively. So a SERIES of Liver Flushes (which one should do anyway) is the way to correct this issue.
Note: Most of have lived for DECADES ingesting unnatural foods, toxins & poisons into our body (almost always with a lack of adequate hydration...further clogging up the system). Most all of the people that ONCE were cured by "a couple of cleanses" by the great healers like Christopher & Schulze...no longer can restore their bodies to complete functioning 'cleanliness' with just a cleanse or flush, or two (or three).
Cleansing, healing, & restoring the body is a commitment to undoing decades worth of chemical damage and structural clogs...and all we've got for tools is natural herbs & food (and very effective tools such as hydrotherapy, etc). So we can't be discouraged or become frustrated when "one or two cleanses" and a small effort to improve our diet/lifestyle 'isn't enough'.
On the other hand, I've seen a LOT of people have permanent relief from acid reflux with just on throrough course of IF#1/IF#2...and even more improvement to health with continued cleansing and liver flushing. So do your reading & research, 'get your head around it all' and soon you'll find you have the answers and ability to give yourself back the vibrant health to which we're ALL entitled.
Flush ON!
