There are some good tools and quizzes out there that you can take and bring in to your doctor to begin to talk about your sleep problems, too.
You can find them on sleepeducation.com, which is the patient education website from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

1) Epworth Sleepiness Scale - only 8 questions long. A short assessment, especially helpful for people who experience sleepiness during the day.
2) Sleep Evaluation - another short one, only 10 True/False questions that are different than those in the Epworth scale. It would be most helpful to fill out both questionnaires.
3) Sleep Diary - if you do suspect a sleep disorder, call your primary care physician and get an appointment. Bring your answers to the two questionnaires above to the appointment. While you are waiting for the appointment, fill out this 2-week sleep diary that measures your asleep and awake times (especially helpful for those with insomnia or who sleep at strange hours or intervals).
4) Teen Sleepiness - good for teenagers or other young people to complete.
Even a small problem with sleep patterns can translate into large problems in other areas, so it's worth it to take these assessments and talk to your doctor about how you could improve your sleep.
