Thank you Insight. I googled that too, as I'm a Christian who loves God very much.
It seems to be a split jury on the issue.. If you have time read this article
which says it can be very beneficial, given the hypnotherapist is a good one.

My only experience with hypnosis is a CD and while the hypnotherapist
is leading me into relaxation with sound and imagery I am fully aware of
everything he's saying. The track I was listening to was being in an amusement
park. After some time he mentions I'm standing before a fortune teller's tent.
At that point I immediately switched off mentally and physically, woke up
and turned the CD player off as I know that is evil. In this situation I was
in total control and would not let myself go somewhere that I normally would
not go.. At the same time, this CD had another track which is very good. It has a lot of really good and healthy affirmations repeated about 10X each.
