Yeah, it could be. It does happen, and it can be life threatening when the energy is blocked or stuck in a knot. I had one in my gut because I screwed up a guided meditation, I stopped paying attention too soon when someone was opening a new path for Chi. It was uncomfortable, and I had to meditate my butt off for a couple of years.
If you have done something half way, like I did,or left a meditation sequence incomplete, Or just have worked deeply without a teacher, it's possible.
