Thanks all of you for the great advice and info. It gives me some hope for her.
She use to make a homemade brew of fresh ginger ,lemongrass and whole cinnamon stick tea. I'll tell her to start making it again. Is a whole cinnamon stick ok or should she be taking cinnamon capsules? I'll get her some Lugols too.
