Absolutely true, according to my experiences in business, Cyrulis.
And now we have the Internet.
The whole is an attempt to assure money-lenders, of various types, that they can prevent losses without hiring good 'people-people' to evaluate the integrity of potential borrowers.
It can't be done, of course. Organizations and lists can't evaluate or 'grade' individuals. To do that with any accuracy they would have to live with each individual, daily...and there is no telling that the individual won't change the very next day after the surveillance is over.
It's far better to study the good an individual has done, I think...and then trust the instinct of your lending officer.
But lending institutions executives are no different than you and I, they want lead-pipe guarantees that their money is safe, and will fetch profits.
There ain't no such deals out there! ...No matter how much technology becomes available.
They'd do far better trusting the instincts of their own people, and saving themselves the costs of the technology, the 'credit bureau' operators, and the advertising.
A skillful and wise and human lending officer is worth his/her weight in gold and diamonds, to the community at large, too.
A handshake, between people of integrity, is still the best guarantee.
Thanks for a fine read.
You said it beautifully.
Uh...are you available for hire?
