"Thus it is up to what actions are moral, legal and necessary to see us, our families and friends safely through the tempest. But as a ray of hope, it is here where Americans in times past have always shown themselves most noble."

It is a good article. But in the end Loeffler shows the reader to be hanging on only by his fingernail of "hope". This type of hope... hoping for the best... hoping for the time that will come in some future moment ... and then, things will finally change. But as we all know today is today, and tomorrow is always tomorrow, it never comes today, it will always remains tomorrow, in the fictitious dimension of the future... He leaves the reader, then, to not to do anything... but only to hope. This type of hope is of no value. To count on what Americans have done in their past, and believe it will come to that in the future, to me, means that he is saying that nothing is to be done right now... hope that the genes of your ancestors will kick in at the appropriate moment... meanwhile continue zzzzzzzzzzzzz........

His articles describes the evolution of Capitalism to Communism and the in between is the stage of Socialism.

To sit around hoping for Americans to get it together, is just to allow the evolution to continue onward...  As Karl Marx has put it in so many words: Capitalism evolves eventually to Communism.
America may be just passing through the stages of Socialism. A dictatorial Communism is on the way. Sitting around hoping for the best will certainly allow for the evolution to continue moving forward.
