then the victors write the history taught to their people and to the children in their schools expounding upon how great, honorable, and righteous they were\are... the majority never knowing any different, believe their grossly distorted "version" and the truth fades away and is eventually forgotten.

Thanks goodness for word of mouth and our elders... without which, the many truths we do hang onto would have died a long time ago.
