Just want to send a message of encouragement to you...and all whose children are dealing with soiling, messy underwear, encopresis. My child had encopresis for more than four years. Sometimes it was a slight problem, but usually it was a very big deal.

It was so exhausting physicially and emotionally for me as a mother.

My child turns 13 soon. The soiling has just about ended. Sometimes there are smudge marks or smudges of poop, but basically the encopresis is gone.

I had read online that many kids are able to get rid of soiling or encopresis when they hit the teen years. Mine did. Something about leaving grade school and being among older kids helped.
