I would very sincerly appreciate any help from anyone who has had a similar problem to mine and has found any relief or cure or improvement. My problem is eye redness. I have large inflamed veins in my eyes and also a kind of bleary eye redness on top of that. Im 46 and have had this problem since my early 20's. I believe my problem started because of 2 things, one I tried unsucessfully to wear hard and soft contact lenses for a couple of years. I would wear them and my eyes would be a little red then I would look in the mirror and they would be extremely red.Of course I would take them out and retry after a few days. I believe that enlarged some of the veins and made them weak along with the eye drops to restrict redness. I quit trying to wear them and of course my eyes cleared up somewhat but then seemed to slowly get worse and go in cycles from mediocre to really awful. The second event was that I was on tetracycline for about a year because of acne. From the tetracycline I developed a candida infection that I fought for years. I have tried everything for relief since then including vegatarianism,macrobiotics, extensive vitamin and supplement therapy, bowel cleansing,wheat grass juicing, vegatable juicing, eye doctors at least 20 times, homeopathics,naturopathics,water cure, and even the Liver Flush twice. Lately I've discovered a little bit of releif from of all places the atkins diet, which I've been using for weight loss. I believe the common thread of all my failed attempts may have been weakened eye veins from contacts aggravated by a chronic and constant candida infection that resisted and may have even been encouraged by cure attempts. Possibly the strict atkins diet has wekened the infection and allowed some relief. I am sorry to keep droning on and on about what may seem a trivial problem when it has actually been devastating at times. Ive been accused of being high , being drunk, being hung over, all the time when the people that know me know my worst habit has been pepsi cola. Lately I've developed a slight yellowness also. Ive noticed that other people that I've seen that had the same red bleary looking eyes have had a degree of alcoholism and or cirrosis or liver troubles. I had my liver function checked and it was fine. Please if you've had the same problems as me or know of somebody who has had any relief please respond. The treatments that have been of some help have been the bowel cleanse,water cure and atkins diet. What has aggravated the condition is pepsi and cabohydrates. Additionally I sometimes get very bad headaches and sickness and have bright yellow bowel movements that are very smelly but seem to provide almost instant relief from my sickness. I believe these bowel movements are pure liver bile. I dont understand this.
