I bailed out years ago... as being identified as an American. Being a human being is certainly a more truer reality.

I have asked one my friends when he plans to move back to Colombia. He tells me soon because he's lived here long enough to see the pretense that living in America is about. He said he'll give me his address before he goes. He can't understand why all the Mexicans and other Latinos are trying so hard to come here. Certainly those that have not spent enough time here do not see the reality of it. I told him, yeah, the day is not far off when those people climbing over the fence down there and they will see me there and wonder why this gringo is on that fence heading the other way? As I will be making my escape from the same place they are trying to get into.

The thing is that you may just be dreaming wherever you go. "A hut in Patagonia sounds pretty damn good." This is also a dream. Dreams and reality never meet. I have resolved myself to the obvious... that there really is no place to go and really nothing to do... To live in this moment is the best anyone can do for himself. Enjoy what you can while you can. For it may not be here tomorrow.

When you see the bad weather moving in it is best to battan down the hatches, beef up some supplies and find yourself a decent shelter from the storm. I will miss listening to some of fantastic music that has be created out of the generation that I've been a part of.
