I part hair into plaits
like continents instead of immediate earth
but we will braid hair like Africa
if parading more truth today staying in sections yet not extreme
reminders not being in ringed necklaces
nor just being mellow just playing with legos
but large as what can't be built over

blonde hair got orange
like clouds dressed twilight
ignite night with a barette
taken out into a drawer
and mountains are for a hand
pointing us in diurnal,
I pulled a treebranch from barbed wire
and wonder the storm that will tear that down
