Could be 'end of the day' syndrome.

Do you panic when the sun goes down? Many people do, especially noticed in older people living in residential facilities. There it is called "sundowner syndrome". But it affects young people too. I think it might be a very ancient response to what would have been felt at the end of the day - as nights are always scarey.
