Interesting - I noticed that since I've starting having digestive trouble, my appetite for salt has been huge. I use sea salt in very generous portions whereas before, I almost never felt the desire to salt my plain vegetables.

Could you elaborate on the endocrine condition? I definitely had digestive weakness hit me with the salt cravings that have since followed.
