Hi Dan,

I agree- don't wait to get started with treatment.

I also have very severe MCS.

I recommend finding a wholistic MD and a Naturopath if you can.

I don't know what your experiences with allopathic physicians have been on MCS. I was diagnosed at Yale by physicians who told me to go home and avoid- they were supportive and experts in Environmental Medicine. However, when I returned for a second visit when my health began to decline further, I could not see those same physicians. The one I saw apparently had a wild hair and told me I had anxiety. Unfortunately, this simplistic and dismissive kind of answer is all too common with allopathic physicians who simply don't have any idea what to do. I didn't see the point of returning time and again for examinations when no treatment was offered (and I paid for the exams). I followed the suggestion to avoid for a year until my health declined rapidly. That was not something I was willing to continue, not that it was very practical to begin with. I then found a Naturopath and began to make serious changes.

I have eliminated all dairy, gluten, Sugar from my diet and although I only tolerate three foods, I am eating a whole foods diet. I drink plenty of water, and exercise. Exercise daily to get the Lymphatic system moving. I also do Skilled Relaxation daily. It turned out that my Adrenals were depleted, and my Liver was not de-toxifying properly. I am taking enzymatic therapy, chelated minerals, and detoxing with UNDA remedies through a Naturopath. I think UNDA remedies, or Biotherapeutic Drainage, can help some people. I really recommend finding someone experienced with MCS patients, and with the variety of options that exist. I am somewhat better in the last few months- I am no longer bed-ridden, my Adrenals and Liver function have improved.

I also highly recommend you visit http://www.askwaltstollmd.com
Tons of information.
There are a few posters there who are now 70-80% improved from MCS. I also know someone who had severe MCS who is better. Wellness, though, is a lifetime committment in general, and it takes time. I have heard estimates of up to eight years to improve substantially, many at about 2-3 years. Rarely, some seem not to improve- those seem to be the ones who appear to have organ/neuro damage. While you are healing, though, you most likely will have to avoid the petrochemicals (print shop).

I wish you all the best.
