OK. I won't belabor this. We are in an herbology forum. Terms, definitions, meanings all relate to herbology.

"just because someone prints something in a book doesn't make it true." Yes it does, if it is accepted by the profession of herbology.

As I said before, my profession has a jargon as well. And widely accepted. That the word, boot. It is the most recognized word in the computer profession.

It comes from the idiom, "pull yourself up by your bootstraps". Origin is unknown. It means to improve your situation by your own efforts. I think it is a teacher's expression to the student. It is shortened to bootstrap; and then again to boot. It is the initial program that is loaded as soon as you turn on your computer.

So, you are wrong in your context.
