Hey Wommie,
thanks so much for posting this!! I'm having yet another sleepless night (it's
2:05 a.m. now) despite not having slept last night for more than 1 hr.-1.5 hrs.
max. Dunno how long this is gonna go on, but one of these days I'm going to
crash and never be able to get up again. I think this hits the nail right on
the head! My derm seems not to know shite from shinola. I cannot believe he
missed this diagnosis. he kept on insisting it was eczema or eczema combined
with staph. The skin biopsy did show staph when it got infected. I don't know
how I'm going to make him see it any different, and with the crummy HMO I have
I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to see anyone who knows anything. I am
going to be printing out the article and seeing my primary doc and see if I
can get a referral to Stanford, where maybe there IS someone who knows shite
from shinola. The amazing thing is, (1) it started when I was dosing with
detoxified; (2) I have not used a single drop of Iodine or Iodoral pill since
last September; and (3) I do not eat bread, but I do eat oatmeal (though not
every day). I rarely have pasta noodles if we go out to eat (there seems to
be less and less that I can safely consume; the latest is fish and seafood,
my favorite, if I'm to eliminate mercury safely from my system). I never used
to have celiac or this problem, before I used iodine. However, that being said,
I did have a serious allergy to fish (interestingly, ONLY fish, and not
seafood) when I was a small child, and almost died at age 2 after consuming
fish. The doctor told my parents, never feed this child fish on pain of death--
I had gone into anaphylactic shock--and up till age 30 or 31 or so, I was
allergic to fish, as I found out several times when having eaten salmon or
other cold-water fish, at a restaurant. I used to take benadryl to the restaurant
if I felt I might give it another try. By the time I was in my forties I started
to eat fish fairly consistently and it stopped completely by then. So there is
something in my system that causes me not to be able to metabolize Iodine right.
I didn't have mercury fillings at age 2 (!) so I can't blame it on that, as I
blame most of my other symptoms on it now.
Anyway, great find and thanks from the bottom of my heart! I'm definitely going
to be looking into this.
