I imagine a number of reasons WHY the infection happened. A number of them have been ruled out. Not cancer,..not polyps. Culture shows three types of bacteria. Because cat nasal passages are very complex, it is easy for bacteria to "hide" and then start proliferating.
Also the fact that he is 17, his immune system does not do the job it once did, so I have to give him things to "help" out.
