Hi Jessica,

I have just found this forum too and like you I'm thanking God for it already!

I have had a Mirena since January 2004, and, after reading the experiences of hundreds (if not thousands) of women here, I made the decision to have it removed.

The last four years have been the worst years of my life. I have been constantly depressed and experiencing constant severe anxiety. I was unable to work, lost my job, and am now facing bankruptcy. Many times I could not leave the house to do something as simple as going to the local shop, unless someone accompanied me.

I also developed Psoriasis during this time, which has become steadily worse. I don't know if this is linked to Mirena, but it will be interesting to see if the condition improves over the next few months now that I have had the thing removed.

Like many here, health professionals dismissed the suggestion that Mirena might have something to do with my health problems over the last few years, and I have been in too much of a state to argue with them.

If I make a miraculous recovery over the next few months, I will know that Mirena is what ruined my life for four years, and I will have to take some sort of action, whether that be legal action or some other kind of collective action to raise awareness of these problems.
