Actually he is saying the ClO2 is released with activaton of chlorite before ingestion
the stomach acid causes a slight increase in the release of ClO2 by acidifying the chlorite solution more but does not react with the ClO2 itself
Is that clearer now?
There is a difference between reacting and producing
