My boyfriend says he's not attracted to me anymore because I gained a little weight (yet I'm more fit now than when we first started dating! I lost weight in the middle of our relationship and have gained very little of it back... I'm talking a size 6-8 here!) - but he "still loves me"

I don't identify with this. He could gain 200 pounds and I would still be attracted to him because I love him. I thought attraction was a given, when you love someone. I'm so dissapointed in how shallow it all is.
Sex has been very infrequent... as in once a month, if I am lucky. Now *I* don't want to have sex (and I'm a very sexual person!)- I feel self-conscious thanks to his comment, and am starting to resent him for it.

The affection in general, in our relationship had been wanning, and continues to dwindle - which makes me very skeptical that "he still loves me". Is this relationship dead?
What should I do?
