That sounds like some sort of fraud, even if they are a reputable company. If you can't get that resolved with the company after some correspondence, then I'd recommend you talk to your credit card and get them to reverse the charges if possible. It depends on your card, of course, and the situation, but often your credit card offers you a form of "insurance" against things like this.
