You didn't say what type of water you are drinking but I suspect that the water you are drinking is highly acidic and if that is so then you are receiving no nourishment from it, it's not helping to hydrate you but rather de-hydrate you. I had been drinking culligan water for a LONG time and was always chronically thirsty and found out it was the water being acidic. You want a filter that lets your water's ph become alkaline without removing all the vital nutrients from it making it "dead" water. There are lots of debates on water on CZ but I can tell you that when I changed my water things started working so much better and no more dry hard stools.
Also make sure the fiber you are getting is SOLUBLE fiber opposed to insoluble which causes flares in IBS. Also, might I suggest you take Aloe Vera juice, the filet part ONLY, in drink form as opposed to the pill form, very little can be derived from the pill in comparison to the juice itself which helps heal that GI much faster calming things down from future attacks, at least it will lessen future attacks that you might have but you can get these under control. I posted a link in another message on the exact diet and I suggest you also read that whole website, you will gain great understanding if you are bouncing off the walls with diet advice like I was. Also, if you can get liquid caproyl but liquid only! It's an oil, and take a few tablespoons of virgin cocnut oil, it really does help soothe the spasms as well.
