Ouch! You're right about leaving the unrequiteds alone. Those after-the-fact encounters also leaves the nagging question "so what was wrong with me the first time around"? And it's amazing how completely ordinary people appear on the second pass after you've built them up into such giants the first time around.

Say what you will about middle age, it's great to be past all the drama and insecurities.
