I have sprouted organic hulled sunflowers. I have also bought flats of organic sunflower sprouts from a professional sprouter (in soil) and those little hull shells are on there. It must be something difficult to avoid if you use the see in the hull. I have only sprouted the hulled ones until they have some tails and then I eat them so cannot say, through my experience, how efficient they would be to grow longer.
