They find a real life person's website, or other identifying information, like name, where they live, etc.

Then they come to a place like CZ, and start making postings, sometimes wild ones, but eventually leading to controversy and argument.

Then, at a convenient time, they "id themselves" as the real person whose information they picked up in the first step above.

I think I've seen it happen twice.
