I couldn't handle the cheap distilled vinegars either.

Have you tried a decent quality organic one, such as Bragg's???

The diff is perhaps greater than that between everclear and fine whiskey or scotch!!!!

Otherwise, lemons work. Hi brix are best, but can compensate with extra BSM and es for lower quality ones.
