As with most things new, it takes time for the dangers to become known.

Interestingly, all the studies funded by the industry, show the devices are safe, while all the studies funded by non-industry sources, show a correlation with brain tumors. Kind of reminds me of aspartame. Vioxx comes to mind. People are so trusting, too trusting, often to their detriment. It's their nature.
