Thanks esme for sharing your story that is very helpful to me it's horrifying but helpful. I go back and forth with the die off it seems at times it just has to be die off because the areas it's in and the knots it formed . I had a systemic allergic reaction one time and it was quite different( although I know allergic reactions can vary wildly) I got hives all over my body and it was acute and responded to benedryl. I tried Benedryl and got no response and I did acupuncture emergency points for allergy and got no response. So I have pretty much concluded it must be die off of a most heinous sort of which u describe!
Any way I will keep investigating
