Daniel, just so you know, my husband and I almost always cover up our glass for the 3 minute period, after reading it in JH's book, as you did. We have also noticed the gas that forms. We realized what it was, of course, but continue the protocol as usual, adding lots of water and flushing down with more water after drinking the mix. I cover it as much just to keep the smell from "invading" the rooms nearby :) I think there is much to be said for people to follow JH's protocol carefully, mixing enough water in, as Silver Fox writes (quite often:) to try to aim for a 1 PPM solution. If you don't add the right amounts of activator (ie. too much citric acid ) or not enough juice/water, you could be doing some harm to yourself. Having said that, we still feel that it is one of the most incredible things we have learned about to improve our wellbeing, and will be forever grateful to Mr.Humble for sharing this with the world.
