This post is an update as well as a response to the post asking why I think things are different, if the virus has a 10 day cycle....To answer your query about what is different, given a supposed 10 day cycle, all I can say is that I wish that were true. Basically I was continuously broken out and in the same spots, for several years. They are now healed and still, after a month into UT, those areas are still clear.
The newest area that had broken out stayed basically at a standstill when I had to take a week off of UT due to lack of privacy. Now that area is continuing to clear up. I am very hopeful that when it clears there will be no new areas, but if they are, I will keep my chin up and continue to drink up. I really don't like the process and haven't started "enjoying" it any more than before, but it is a morning routine and I realize that it is bringing about healing of a condition that I had pretty well given up hope of clearing.
I have been back on the therapy for about 5 days now and improvement has started up again very noticeably.
What I find to be profoundly positive and encouraging is the fact that during a week off, the old areas did not get sore or start to break out. That was major for me. I have never taken a week off of treating this condition without ending up with a worsened condition.
I think this is a very helpful treatment. I will hold off saying it is a cure just yet The remaining spots aren't red anymore but the skin isn't perfect yet. When it is, and if I don't get any new breakouts, I will continue for a few months more before trying to stop the UT to see whether or not it is treating or curing.
I have spent so darned much on trying to find treatments that work. It is amazing to me that this one is free and quick. I love the Bob Beck protocol for other things, and it did hold the breakouts at a mostly non broken out stage.. just redness and soreness, but keeping up with it was too difficult, no matter how hard I tried. I didn't dare to take those contraptions on an airplane for fear of them being mistaken for something dangerous, so I was regularly having to stop using the protocol. The UT is so easy that barring another episode of having to share my bedroom and bathroom for a solid week, I ought to be able to be consistent with the UT.
So to recap my answer about the 10 day cycle and what is different? The areas have not broken out again and it has been over a month since I began, with a missed week. The condition was chronic with overlapping breakouts prior to that, and that had been the case for several years...ever since I became resistant to Valtrex.
