It is very, very simple.

There are apple peeler devices which remove the cores and skin, and slice the apples into a spiral. Cut the apple once and you have perfect half slices which dehydrate rapidly.

The dried fruit guy and his wife bring huge sacks of dried apples, and more, to farmers' markets, all up and down this valley. Once you've tasted, you're hooked.

Berries and soft fruits whir into a paste that makes excellent 'fruit leather' when dehydrated. Roll it up into sticks for the finest 'candy', and energy.

Hang bunches of parsley, or any herb, in a warm place, until they are dry, but still green. Then swoop the leaves from the stems into a huge bowl...then bottle. I have dandelion leaves and roots I ran through my dehydrator, because they must be washed first. Dandelion roots must be carefully brushed under running water.

Your dehydrated results are CONCENTRATED nutrition and flavor, and light to carry.

...Money in the bank if you sell them...but keep your prices fairly low. That's the best kind of advertising. People will find you, and buy more every time.

Your grandparents will be delighted.

If you are moving away, get a buddy to take over the operation.

'Organic', of course.
