Hi,

I'm wondering if there are any Australians here who have found suitable compression garments for the full leg?

I'm told by the Victorian Austin Lymphedema clinic that there is nothing for the full leg but I see that there are panytyhose type advertised on the net. However, I just don't know if they are the kind of compression fabric that we need for serious lymphedema or how to purchase without someone actually measuring the leg like the clinic does and purchasing something custom. I'd like to hear some views on that please.

I'm told the shape of my lymph is unusual but when I asked if everyone had different shapes they said yes so I'm confused. I haven't found them to be any help at all. I can get the half leg compression leggings via a government subsidy but that hasn't helped cuz now the lymphedema has spread to the thighs and I have a huge hard lump on the inner thigh just above the knee and can hardly walk because of it. When I showed it to the clinic they just shrugged. They've given me such bad advice at times that I'm shocked. They focus on my weight even after they've been told that I have huge, bi-lateral, fluid filled, ovarian cysts which are thought to be blocking the lymph, diabetes ll due probably to infection or one of the other myriad dx I have. I'm on a strict low-carb diet, don't take trans fats plus I take fish oil caps every day. It's pointless for them to focus on my weight when I'm already doing everything I can about it.

Thanks in advance for any help.......Scouter
