Libertarians are opposed to anti-discrimination laws.
"I may be wrong on this , and will be happy to be wrong, but this seems to be your way of saying we need more laws .... ? Don't we already have more than enough laws to satisfy a single humanity without calling for yet more laws? All this law-making going on over the years really seems to be a half-baked way of people collectively agreeing to say "okay, we admit that thus far, we've really botched the idea of enforcing the laws that exist from the moment we are born into this world, so in an effort to make up for all of our past incompetences, lets make some new laws and get it right this time'"
I was trying to make a point against Libertarianism. I doubt there is more than a handful of Libertarians who are not white. To me, Libertarianism is an elitist notion that ignores all injustices. I personally feel no discrimination at all but I am white. I find the same people calling themselves Libertarian would have that there would be no laws affording protection of minorities. Love and compassion are not even part of the Libertarian lexicon. I am not saying to build a larger set of laws but to protect the Constitutionally protected Rights of all Americans regardless of their race, religion, or sex. I don't know about erecting new laws but in my town, 50% of those who are black on one side of the highway will end up on probation or parole by the time they are 21. On the other side of the highway, the average is 10% for all races. If there were no discrimination, their would be opportunities for those who are black to find meaningful work that paid more than what one can make selling drugs.
70% of blind people do not work in the United States. There are laws against discrimination but discrimination is still the everyday experience of blind Americans. Only by creating opportunities for those not in the majority will minorities be capable of overcoming human nature of the majority to marginalize minorities. In America, there are many laws protecting laborers, disabled, women, and ethnic minorities and at least there are some who rise above discrimination to live
in dignity but the Libertarian is eroding the will of the American majority to defend those who are in the minority.
Union Leaders in America and Management seem to me to be on the same team. They do not stand up to moving the factories to other shores. Where is the outrage realized?
There is no political will to move the factories back to America. It is because the idea of a free market has been brainwashed into the American psyche. It is okay to ship your job off to the Chinese because of free market ideals. If there needs to be any new laws, this is where I would start. Bring the jobs back home.
Most of America's expenditures-97% go to either protecting Corporate interests or Military Expenditures- Should I say 97% of government expenses have nothing to do with protecting minorities but rather it is easy to seek a scape goat.
Whenever things go poorly, you can bet the majority will want that 3% taken away while the Corporate Libertarian takes the rest. Soon, there will be no middle class and there will only be an elite white wealthy class and everyone else. When this day occurs, it may be too late to protect even those privileged whites who were allowed to become middle class. When that day occurs, the rest of us will be left the crumbs that fall off of the elite Corporate Libertarian's table. Perhaps then there will be a bloody civil war that could have been prevented if Americans would have treated the least of these with dignity an respect afforded them by Constitutional protections?
