Well, then let's look at it this way.

Bank A lends $100K to a Customer A to buy a house. Customer A happily pays his mortgage, until one day he decides to sell.

In comes Customer B, who gets Bank B to give him a mortgage for the same house. Bank B sends Bank A the balance of the mortgage that is due. So what do you think that is? Play money? I don't think Bank A would like play money, and I don't think Bank B sent them play money.

It's a lot more complicated than you are making it out to be FF. True what you say, and it is a delicate balancing act. Such like the run on banks during the big crash. Do you know that I worked for the only bank in the country that returned all the cash to their depositors? Now, if you want to start railing about the FDIC, then go ahead. There are strict reserves so that banks do not have a similar crash. They are under very tight restrictions, and are not allowed to freely go and rip people off.

But, that's the end of that discussion. If you think they are criminals, then so be it.
