My point was NOT that the poster should answer my questions so anonymous strangers on the internet can give advice --
My point was that those are the kinds of questions the poster can use to begin to identify causes.
Even a blind hog will get an acorn once in awhile, so perhaps some of the advice people throw out to questions like this will help -- BUT -- the human body is complex and different things can give rise to the same constellation of symptoms. It's all well & good to suggest supplements for example but what if the real issue is heavy metal poisoning?
I can't remember the title but some years ago I read a book about ADD/ADHD in which the author (an MD) recounted case after case in which he discovered underlying medical conditions that gave rise to the child's ADD/ADHD symptoms. Causes ranged from sickle cell anemia to pinworm. I'm sure most of the people on this forum would jump to condemn the doctors who first saw these children, pronounced ADD/ADHD and wrote them prescr*iptions for Ritalin. But these same people think nothing of "prescribing" their pet protocols for strangers about whom they know frighteningly little.
This poster's son is facing some serious issues; he needs a knowledgeable in-person advocate who can review his entire medical history, perform diagnostic tests if they're called for, and begin to systematically address the most likely cause/s of his symptoms.
I'm not saying there's anything wrong with people saying "I had those same symptoms; this was the cause, and this is what worked for me." It's freeing and can be a loving and supportive act. But even that kind of advice ought to come with a big huge caveat. People need to find the CAUSE. We amateurs who are sitting here doling out ideas--and I do it too--need to make it clear that that's all they are--ideas.
