my experience with any birth control has been awful. after ten years on bc of some type i have finally figured out my Depression before mirena was the bc pill. i had mirena 3 1/2 years. i had about every side effect and then some. about 4 months after getting mirena inserted i was diagnosed with bipolar grade 2. i was told it was part of life after having my third child and my Depression had progressed to bi polar. however, since removal of my mirena i do not believe i have bi polar disorder any longer. i am now going through the hardest time trying to save my marriage right now but mentally i feel "balanced". if i had not gotten mirena removed when i did, i am positive i would have committed suicide by now. with mirena, my mind was not right, i could not even carry on a conversation because i could not comprehend what was being said most of the time. i was extremely suicidal because i hated myself so much. i was a raving b****. now i am alot of fun, i laugh ALOT, i have fun now and i laugh at my mistakes now. the best thing of all is i can think and i can relax. i now have my mind back. i am not currently on any meds for bi polar. luckily, i think my mental status is great now. ialso have noticed people have noticed i am much different in a good way now. half the time they ask me what i am on because thay want some!! lol.
